ATTENTION:  Please be mindful of our mowers and trimmers when placing decorations on gravesites.   Maintaining the cemetery is a time consuming and expensive endeavor ($13,400 for the season), if you are interested in contributing to this please forward to St Mary Tampico PO Box 159 Tampico, IL 61283  marked Cemetery Upkeep. Thank you.

Please remember this is a Sacred space when placing any decorations or memorials.  Please refrain or limit secular items as the body is no longer occupied and the soul has no need for worldly items.  Please do not leave food as it attracts animals.

Please upright or maintain any containers or items which make it difficult to trim or mow. Make sure all new decorations are secure as they tend to blow in strong winds. Put a permanent label on items as sometimes they get moved and may end up somewhere else. When visiting the cemetery please discard old or broken decorations.  If you want something saved make sure it is in good condition and consider labeling in case it wanders in the wind.

Thank You

Building & Grounds Update

DIOCESAN CAPITAL CAMPAIGN:  We are signed up for Wave 4 which is in early 2027 and our target is $58,854 which if we raise it we are able to utilize $51,791 for our projects the rest goes to the Bishop’s campaign. If we do not get the entire goal and payment then we may not be able to  utilize any money.  Possible projects for the capital campaign funds – repair of peeling patches in main sanctuary, air conditioning.

We have a DIAL account set up for the stained Glass windows we started fixing the worst two and they are back and look very nice.  The light seems to come in stronger where we repaired.  We have received another $10,000 in memory of deceased loved ones so we about $7,000 short of Phase 2 repair for stained glass windows.

Even though our Capital Campaign does not start until 2027 if you wish to donate now due to having funds available please put Parish 099 and Diocesan Capital Campaign on your donation make check to St Mary Tampico or if you donate online on the Diocese of Rockford  website make sure you designate St Mary Tampico 099.  Thank you for all the generosity we continue to receive.   The Diocesan Appeal is at 100%, Thank you to everyone who contributed!

Other Projects identified: Carpet in back sacristy and repair of water damage (roof now repaired), peeling/rust damage on the outside railings.  Air Conditioning with PTAK units in main sanctuary.

Donations may be made to St. Mary Tampico PO Box 159 Tampico Il 61283.
